Life Lessons from Supergurus

Life Lessons from Supergurus

Welcome Welcome!

It is that time of the year when I am looking forward – Dreaming and Planning for the year ahead!

The one thing I know for sure is that BOOKS can change our lives!

I selected to read: Become your best self right now – Life Lessons from the Supergurus.
Published by Aleph Book Company.

This book is a collection of Life Lessons from some of the most popular authors from around the world – folks that are considered the modern world’s greatest supergurus, and who have changed lives of innumerous people!

I for one had most of these authors, rightly called Supergurus, on my TBR (to-be-read) list, but honestly, I have just not had the time to read the books themselves, and I am not sure if I will have the time in the next few months, or if I even want to spend the next 2 years reading just these books! Though each of the books in themselves contain life-changing (and improving) content, and as a reader of self-development books, these kind of books are right up my ally.

About the book

The men and women whose life lessons feature in this volume are among the modern world’s greatest supergurus. Their books have collectively sold over a hundred million copies. They have changed the lives of their readers and followers in every corner of the globe. Some of their finest insights are to be found in Become Your Best Self Right Now. Read the book and transform your life!

My Point of View of the book:

The book is not a summary, but rather, notes, that you or I would make after reading the book which summarises the message of the book and highlights the key points – points to ponder and points to remember!

The book is made up of 31 chapters, or 31 Lessons from 31 books by 31 supergurus (popular and best selling authors).

This is a pretty spectacular spread in terms of knowledge and information. The book is divided into 3 sections –

How to Succeed

From Jen Sincero, Devdutt Patnaik, to Dale Carnegie and Norman Vincent Peale – These are modern classics that are on must-read lists for everyone who wants to improve themselves even 1%!

How to Become Wealthy

Where authors like Joseph Murphy, Napolean Hill, and Benjamin Graham among others tell us about becoming Wealthy. And the important distinction between

How to Live

From the popular lot: Robin Sharma, Gaur Gopal Das, and Mark Manson to the classical U.G. Krishnamurti, James Allen, and Paramhansa Yogananda, to my personal wish list of Thich Nhat Hanh band J.Krishnamurti.

A 168 page of bite-sized actionable learning from renowned global supergurus– the best kind in my mind! I love reading, but I do prefer to have some purpose and some gain from reading a book.  Whether it is the simple joy of words and the story, or, in the case of this book, the knowledge of 31 world thought leaders at my fingertips in a few pages.

Each Chapter is on average just 2-3 pages, which means that each line, each bullet point is a to-the-point summation of what the author has taught in the book.

I definitely feel the book is worth a read, and a re-read with your highlighter.

I truly appreciate that the book is crisp 31 chapters making it easy to pick one chapter – one message and read and internalize it! This one book encouraged me to start underlining sentences that resonated with me and make notes in the margins again.

I had practically given up this habit of mine to make notes when reading, and I am honestly quite happy to be back to liking what I am reading, and liking it enough, finding it relevant and useful enough to take notes!

Happy Reading!
