Parchhayee – THE OVERCOAT – ZEE5
Hello, my fellow Cinema & Entertainment Buffs,
I have just jumped onto the bandwagon of streaming media apps and so far my favourite is the Ghost stories series Parchhayee on ZEE5.
The Parchhayee web series is an adaptation of the popular Ruskin Bond Ghost Stories which have breathtaking cinematography and actors who are a treat for the senses!
This Valentine’s, ZEE5 released Parchhayee – Episode 3 with a trailer with some breathtaking scenes and actors nothing short of talent powerhouses!

THE OVERCOAT Trailer has an intriguing mix of past life & reincarnation, a psychic, friends and a dark night – all wrapped around the mysterious overcoat!
As always (well, in all THREE episodes), the episodes are shot in the beautiful and soulful mountains – I tell you, these episodes are like mini-vacations with imaginative storytelling at their visual best!
This episode has the gorgeous Raima Sen, the veterans Anju Mahendru and Payal Nair along with the newbies Saloni Batra and the hunk Sajjad Delafrooz!
If you have not watched the 3rd episode yet, then here are the things you can expect from the episode, going by the trailer.
I have always been fascinated by the concept of reincarnation and how people are still connected across lives and sometimes beyond that too! I think psychics are such gifted people and they can really help understand the mysteries of other worlds.
In the trailer, they show some glimpses into the story of the episode – and it has my mind reeling in a hundred different directions of what is it that Anju Mahendru’s character connects with and sees in the trailer? What is the actual story? I wonder!
Do you believe in Ghosts? In Reincarnation? In Psychics? – I am a strong believer! But what do you think about them?
I love the versatility of Anju Mahendru! From being a part of Dev Anand’s Jewel Thief to playing granny on various TV series – she is a veteran who portrays her characters with such ease, I’d say she’s a natural!
Raima Sen is talented and has done a vast array of film genres in both Hindi and Bengali! She is a style icon and I love her Instagram feed.
Payal Nair is an often seen actress on television, and I was pleasantly surprised to find her part of this series! I am quite intrigued to find out what role SHE plays in this story.
Another highlight of the episode would be Sajjad Delafrooz who has been working in the industry since 2012 and has worked in different industries. He made quite an impression as the villain, Abu Usman opposite Salman Khan in Tiger Zinda Hai!
He had a candid chat in this interview where he shared a lot of his personal experience and his struggle as an actor.
Check out my experience of watching episode 1 here and check out the series on ZEE5 for absolute paisa-vasool entertainment.

Happy Ghosting!
